Тhe other stellar job award for Supernatural: The End, goes to Misha Collins. His hippie version of future Castiel was brilliant and it was great to see him playing some different notes after a season of being stiff and stone-faced. The key, however, is in the fact that we still saw some of Castiel in there, or maybe it was more of Jimmy — but it was completely believable that the man we saw standing on that dark street waiting for daylight, was this man waiting for either an orgy or a massacre to begin.

Add me to the list of people impressed with Misha's performance. I already mentioned this in the episode thread, but I just got to say it again, I think he salvaged the whole future!Castiel role. His crazy hysterical laughter really sold his performance as a broken embittered ex-angel. It was almost too depressing to watch at times, except of course when he was relieving tension in the scenes with future!Dean.

Lastly, before the airing of this past episode some people were saying that Future Castiel was basically Misha with all the crinkly-eyed smiles, but the striking difference was the fact Misha (at least his persona as he presents it in interviews and at conventions) has this twinkle in his eye when he smiles, Future Castiel was just glassy-eyed and hurting. Kudos.
